Snowventure – Crested Butte, CO

When the Bonvoy team began planning a winter trip, we knew where we wanted to go.  Crested Butte has an adventurous soul.  It immediately captures you.  It is unique. It has a local feel. It has retained its small town charm.  And the locals like to party. It is our kind of place for our kind of people!  So we put together a winter trip that is as adventurous and charming as the Butte itself. Not only that, “Colorado’s last ski town” gets an average of 300 inches of snow every year and has more than 1,167 skiable acres!  So let it snow for we are taking you to the mountain top to ski, board, snow mobile, climb, ride and zip line your way through this six day, soulful wintery adventure.

We’ve done all the planning for you so you can channel the laid back nature of the locals and go with the flow in our lodging for the week, a local rustic mountain house surrounded by beautiful aspen trees and plenty of wildlife.

Day 1: Travel Day

Gunnison – Crested Butte (GUC) now provides air service through three major airlines from select cities.  Montrose Regional Airport (MRJ) also offers select non-stop flights to the area.  Bonvoy will coordinate ground transportation for flights coming into GUC.  For those driving, we will provide a map to our lodging for the week and greet you upon arrival.  Once the entire group has gathered and unpacked, get to know your fellow travelers around our common room wood burning fire with drinks and food provided by Bonvoy.

Day 2: Ski

Whether you are a skier or boarder, beginner or advanced, Bonvoy will provide your lift tickets and equipment to hit the mountain at your own pace.  We’ll enjoy a warm breakfast at our house then shuttle the group to a nearby shop to get fitted for our skis and boards.  This will be a great time to buy any items you may have forgotten to keep you warm on the mountain.

*Ski lessons not included in Bonvoy’s trip price.  Anyone interested in taking lessons can buy those separately and Bonvoy will accommodate a shuttle time for scheduled lessons.

Day 3: Ski  

The day is yours to make the mountain your winter wonderland playground.  Bonvoy will run a couple of shuttle times in the morning and in the afternoon so you can get in as little or as much time as you want on the slopes.

Day 4: Snowmobiling and Zip-lining

We’ll wake up, eat breakfast then get our adrenaline pumping through powder-lovers paradise on our own snow mobiles.  Test your driving skills through quickly paced trail rides and let loose in open powder fields surrounded by the spectacular and vast mountain views that attract so many to Crested Butte. We’ll have worked up an appetite for a warm bowl of chili or soup then we’ll take off the mountain, literally, and soar through the trees on a zip-line. Not just for the jungle adventures, zip-lining in the winter is a whole new kind of experience that will take your breath away!

Day 5: Ice Climbing

Get your insides warm with a bowl of oatmeal and bring along the hot chocolate for we are hitting the ice today.  You can leave your skates and Michelle Kwan moves behind though as we hit the ice mountain style with a day of ice climbing!  We will take a short (and early morning) drive to our destination ice park for a full day of exploring the many different routes offered at the park.  No experience is required and all gear will be provided through our area guides.  Just strap on your crampons, get your axes ready and chip your way up the mountain for a one-of-a-kind climbing experience.  After a full day of climbing, we’ll head back to our house to warm up with dinner and an evening in on our last night before departing.

Day 6: Departure Day

Bonvoy will provide transportation to Crested Butte Mountain airport at the time of the earliest departure.
