Happy Cinco De Mayo and National Bike Month! Two great reasons to spend some time outdoors celebrating. Another reason for celebration? Summer travel! The time is upon us so take advantage of it while you can. We realize Bonvoy won’t always be your choice for adventure – and that’s ok. We do however want to be your source of information for all your travel related questions! If a Bonvoy adventure trip is not on your agenda this summer, at least give us a call for our expert knowledge of international fares and guides, secret food jaunts you won’t want to miss on your trip, packing tips and more. We are happy to help you plan whatever adventure you have in mind.

In the mean time, jump on that bike and log in some time on your favorite trails. (If you don’t have a bike but want one and are not sure where to get started, we can help with that too!)

Happy travels, happy adventures!

In honor of National Bike Month, here is a tid bit on adjusting your bike.

I just recently had my bike adjusted and it has already made all the difference in the world.

I was having some knee pain after about 15-20 miles of riding. I was also not comfortable on my arrow bars. My arms kept rolling out of the holdsters, my arms were too narrow, and I was having back pain.

I had the bike shop move the arm holdsters outward and raise the bars about 1 inch. This brought my arms up and out to give me a more comfortable ride.

I also had them bring my seat up and inward to change both the angles of my legs and arms while riding. This has already relieved some of my pain while riding and has allowed me to stay down on my arrow bars much longer.

Don’t force your body to adjust to your bike. Sometimes it can take some riding to figure out what you don’t like about the fit of your bike. If you don’t feel comfortable take your bike to a local shop and have them tweek it. A good shop should be able to measure your angles to make sure you’re fit to the bicycle correctly. And don’t be afraid to tell them what feels good and what feels bad. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable on your bike.

-Sean

The Only Margarita Recipe You Need

Pour the frozen limeade in a pitcher, fill empty limeade can with tequilla, pour in, then fill with 7-up, pour in and then empy in the bottle of Corona and stir – don’t blend!

*Double, triple the recipe as needed for your group size and add salt to the rim of your glass if you want to get fancy.

Bonvoy has teamed up with ICEdot to help increase your safety on our trips. We were super excited to try them out on our first trips of the year. These snaps hold all our clients important medical and emergency information. If anything happens during a trip a full medical profile can be pulled up and emergency contacts informed. Here’s a pic of them in action. These cool little snaps attach directly to your clothes and are sturdy enough to make it through a washing cycle.

We love the snaps but for the remainder of our trips we’re going to be switching over to ICEdot wristbands.

We think these will be easier and more convenient for our clients. Let us know what you think. Would you rather have a snap that attaches to your clothing or a wristband?
